Eco-Design requirements for EuP (Energy using Products)

The EuP Directive 2005/32/EC of 6 July 2005 established a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements (such as energy efficiency requirements) for energy-using products (EuP). At the end of 2007, the EU Commission launched the preparatory study on vacuum cleaners (lot 17) which focus on domestic appliances but may also apply for commercial products, e.g. vacuum cleaners used for hotels or office spaces. EUnited Cleaning founded a task force for the involvement of the relevant manufacturers as stakeholders to this preparatory study.

 

Electrical and Electronic Equipment – WEEE and RoHS

Electric driven floor cleaning machines, as well as high pressure cleaners for commercial use, are work machines and do not fall under the scope and are not affected by the regulations of both the WEEE- and RoHS-Directive. Read more
